LG
Electronics succeeded in commercialization¡¸Linear
Compressor¡¹integrated with cutting-edge power-saving
technologies.
White good appliance ¡¤ compressor industries such
as Matsushita(Japan), Electrolux(Sweden), Embraco(Brazil)
are developing the technology for the next generation
products.
For the first time in the world, LG Electronics
launched a side by side refrigerator with a linear
compressor double door in Korea. This is a technological
stepping-stone for leaping to number 1 in the world.
LG's¡¸Linear Compressor¡¹adopts a new concept of power
saving, where a motor operates in a linear motion
unlike conventional motors with rotational motion.
This new product with linear compressor achieved
36kw, which it the lowest of the similar models
in Korean market. It saves power consumption over
16% or higher than the existing LG products and
over 40% or higher than import products.
Linear compressor adopts a linear motion unlike
conventional motors with rotational motion. Linear
compressors are used in next generation motors,
which are currently adopted in speakers, propulsion
equipment of magnetically floating trains, and elevators
in skyscrapers.
Conventional compressors suffer from energy loss
of approximate 20% since it compresses the coolant
by converting rotational motion to linear motion.
Linear Compressor adopts linear motion so that there
is no energy loss due to motion conversion. It can
reduce noise significantly since there is no connection
parts that cause friction and abrasion.
For conventional compressors, frequency regulators
are necessary to adjust rotation speed of motors
according to the temperature. However, linear compressor
enhances refrigeration efficiency by controlling
the moving distance according to the amount of stored
food and exterior temperature via digital circuit.
LG Electronics is planning to expand the adoption
of linear compressor for the export models also. |
