Before Use

Simple and Easy Cooking Function / Adding Cooking Time
By pushing this button, cooking starts automatically and, also, cooking time can be extended during cooking. This does not apply for automatic cooking or defrost functions. Cooking time is extended for 30 seconds per every push of the button (up to 10 minutes).
  Power Saving Function
Whether the door is open or closed, the interior light and the status display are automatically turned off in five minutes to save power. If the power-saving mode is on, be sure to start cooking after either opening the door or pushing the "Power/Cancel" button once.
  Reminder Function
This is to remind you when cooking is done. If the door is not opened after cooking is done, a buzzer will go off to remind you to get the food out.
  Safety Lock Function
This safety feature is to prevent incidents such as children's having their own ways with the micro wave oven by locking down the functions. Setting up : Press down the "Power/Cancel" button for about 4 seconds, and you will hear a buzzer and "L" will appear on the status display panel. Canceling : Press down the "Power/Cancel" button for about 4 seconds, and you will hear a buzzer, "L" will disappear on the status display pane, and now you can start cooking again.

Power and Installation
· This product should be used exclusively with AC 220V. Use only a 220V power plug with a ground prong.
-Potential danger for electrocution when the oven is out of order or short circuited.
· Do not bend the power cord by force or do not put any heavy object on the power cord.
-This may damage the cord and cause fire or electrocution.
· Do not plug in multiple power plugs into a single receptacle.
-This may over heat the receptacle and cause fire.
· Do not unplug by pulling the power cord.
-This may damage the cord and cause fire or electrocution.
· Do not open up the outer casing.
-A high voltage is applied inside the microwave oven.
( By opening up the casing, you may be exposed to the danger of being electrocuted.)

· Do not put a cover on the microwave oven.
-This may heat up the microwave oven and cause fire.
· Do not store any combustibles near by the microwave oven.
-When food is heated, combustible materials may ignite due to the heat and cause fire.
· If the door is damaged, do not use the microwave oven until the repairman fixes it.
-Damaged door may cause leakage of electromagnetic radiation.

How to Use and Clean
· Do not overheat food unnecessarily.
-This may cause fire.
· Other than cooking and sterilization, do not use the microwave for other purposes such as drying clothes.
-This may cause overheat and malfunction, which, in turn, may cause fire.
· Do not place metallic objects such as pin and wire inside the case.
-This may cause electrocution or malfunction induced injury.
· If there is a gas leakage in the house, do not touch the microwave oven or the socket but open windows for ventilation.
-Any sparks from the microwave oven may ignite the gas and explode, which will induce fire and burn.
· Prevent water from getting inside the microwave oven.
-This may cause fire or electrocution.
· Unplug the power after cleaning or maintenance.
-This may cause electrocution.
· Do not operate empty.
-This may cause fire or malfunction of the product.
-However, deodorization function can be used while the cooking compartment is empty.

· Do not plug or unplug with wet hands.
-This may cause electrocution.

Power and Installation
· If the power plug is loosely fitting to the socket or damaged, do not plug in.
-This may cause electrocution or fire.
· Unplug the power cord if the microwave oven is not to be used for an extended period time.
-There may be possibilities of electrocution, leakage, or fire due to deterioration of insulation.
· Do not install the microwave oven in a place with poor ventilation or on uneven surface.
-This may cause noise or over heating.
· Do not place heavy objects on the microwave oven or cover it with decorative lace.
-Objects may fall to cause injuries and the cover may cause overheating of the microwave oven to cause damage.
· Do not place any container of water.
-If water gets into the back side of the microwave oven, it may cause electrocution and fire.
· Do not install the microwave oven in places where humidity is high or water
-This may cause leakage due to deterioration of insulation.

How to Use and Clean
· Do not operate if the door is clogged with foreign objects.
-This may cause malfunction.
· Do not touch the food or parts right after cooking is finished.
-You may get burned due to very high temperature. Always wear a cooking mitten.
· Be careful with the food after reheating operation, since it may get very hot.
-Special care must be taken when giving children reheated beverage or food.
· Fruits with hard skins must be scored and capped bottles should be opened before heating.
-Expansion of the contents may cause explosion or burst.
-Do not heat eggs in the microwave oven for they may explode upon heating.

· Do not use metallic containers or containers with gold or silver lining, which generate sparks.
-This may cause fire.
· In cases where strange noise, smell or smoke are observed, unplug the power immediately with the door closed and call LG service center for help.
Do not pull or hang on the door.
-Microwave oven may fall down or fingers may get jammed in the door. Children may get injured and microwave oven may malfunction.



Choosing Containers

Containers fit for use
· Porcelain ware
-Use common porcelain ware.
· Heat resistant glassware
-Use glassware which can stand direct contact with fire.
· Heat resistant plastic ware
-Use plastic ware which can stand up to 120¨¬C.

Containers to be used with caution
· Common plastic ware
-Use only for simple reheating if plastic ware is heat resistant only up to 100¨¬C.
· Common glassware
-Use only for simple warming of mil, water, or liquor.

Containers unfit for use
· Metallic ware
-Food will not be heated since stainless pot or container will reflect the electromagnetic radiation.
· Container with gold/silver patterns
-Gold or silver pattern on the container will generate sparks and cause discoloration or breakage.
